OUR VINES
The year 2009 has been a good and successful wine year for Moyau. Up to the harvest the summer has been dry with only low rainfalls. The vines are in a very good state of health and the grapes have been orderly hand gathered and selected.
The tasting has borne astonishing outcomes and confirmed our high expectations. The first Cuvées of the vintage 2006 can be presumably obtained in spring 2007. Have a look at our wine list and taste our wines at home or visite us on La Clape. Actually you can order wines out of our product line ‘M de Moyau’.
Chateau Moyau is one of the latest traditional vineyards on La Clape, a rocky coastal mountain range south of Narbonne. For several centuries wine has been planted at Chateau Moyau situated at the coast and the salt lakes. The legend tells that the original foundation of the chateau goes back to settled down pirates in the 17th century. The meanwhile complete reconstructed wine cellar and the machinery are technically up to the highest standards. Nevertheless tradition is been granted high priority at Moyau. The partially more than 80 years old vines are fostered lovingly. Through strict production restrictions – only 30 hl per hectare – a high quality is been assured and Moyau will be able to establish itself as one of the leading vineyards.
M de Moyau wines are top wines, which have been created especially for the high quality gastronomy and the bon vivants’ high demand. They are typical wines of La Clape having an intensive fruit and a high finesse.
